I was really glad to have Yusef Najafi as a coworker. His role was as a news and arts reporter for our magazine. But clearly he was meant to produce greater things in this world — things that would be clever and entertaining, musical and meaningful. And so, he moved to NYC and learned how to create the most intriguing animations and motion graphics for Comedy Central and for himself. I am so impressed — jealous really — of his talent, inner motivation and colorful design abilities.
His work is infused with personal artifacts about his life and his family; and in that context, the original music and imagery he creates with his art is both effective and affecting, a twisted fusion of being funny while sharing feelings.
